DAMAGES

The Edge renter is completely liable and responsible for any damage to the Edge vehicle and any third party vehicle, property or personal injury. The optional Collision Damage Waiver has limited coverage protection ONLY for the Edge vehicle with an applicable deductible.

Edge Damage Process

1. Before pick-up, the vehicle is inspected, and up to 20 photos are taken of the vehicle. These photos cover all angles and any existing damages to the vehicle.

a. Photos can be taken hours in advance in order to speed up the pick-up process.

2. After the vehicle is picked up by the driver, an email is sent to the teamster captain and members of the production staff that includes the following:

a. Vehicle photos
b. Rental agreement showing the date and time of pickup
c. Driver information

Please note that we always advise drivers to inspect the vehicle prior to leaving the parking lot.

3. When the vehicle is returned, we inspect it and take up to 20 photos of the vehicle. We also look for any new damage. We compare the vehicle in the state of its return, to the photos we took at the beginning of the rental. We are then able to identify if there are any new damages to the vehicle.

4. If new damages are identified, the teamster captain and production staff are notified right away via email with the photo evidence attached.

5. Invoices are created and sent to production for payment.


If you damage your Edge rental, please follow this procedure:

1. In most cases, you will have to contact and wait for the police to make an official report. Even if no one is present (parked car or property), witnesses or video may be recording the incident which could later be viewed as a “hit and run” incident. Leaving the scene of an accident is a crime in every state. In the case of an unattended vehicle or property, leave a note with an explanation, your rental contract number (BK1#), your contact number, Edge’s third party claims administrator (PMA Insurance at 804-967-5678​) and police precinct/report info.

2. Immediately contact Edge customer service (212.947.EDGE) and inform us of the incident. You can download the Damage Report here to be completed and returned to Edge. Also, immediately contact your insurer and begin a claim if applicable.

3. Carefully (do not put yourself in traffic or unsafe conditions) take pics of the Edge vehicle damage, third party damage and accident scene. Please make sure license plates and vehicle ID numbers are in the pics. Please try to obtain video from a nearby source (gas station, business, residence, dashcam) of the accident and copy it to your phone and/or upload directly.

4. Exchange info with the third party (if applicable). Use phones to exchange pics of driver’s licenses, registration, rental contract and insurance info.

5. Email pics/video, Edge Damage Report and police report (full report should be available to driver after 3 business days) to Damages.

6. Edge Damages staff will contact you for further info.



Procedure If You Are In An Accident With An EDGE Rental:

Please make sure license plates and vehicle ID numbers are in the pics. Please try to obtain video from a nearby source (gas station, business, residence, dashcam) of the accident and copy it to your phone and/or upload directly.

4. Exchange info with the Edge driver (if applicable). Use phones to exchange pics of driver’s licenses, registration, rental contract and insurance info.

5. Email pics/video and police report (full report should be available to driver after 3 business days) to First Reports and Claims. Documents can be faxed to 718.937.2050.
